Hi, my name is Sam! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University. I work with children, teens, and young adults and am passionate about supporting families in returning to a healthier day-to-day living rhythm. I strive to create a safe, non-judgmental space where everyone can explore their experiences, gain new tools for themselves, repair relationships, and move toward sustained change. I specialize in working with at-risk youth (child welfare, juvenile delinquency, mental health hospitalizations/suicidality), trauma-related disorders, and anxiety-related disorders. A typical session may look like “being a detective” to learn why we do the behaviors we do, using art to express those really difficult feelings, simply talking while engaging in play, or exploring a variety of other creative options. I believe that feeling safe and relaxed during therapy is vital to making progress, and having fun is a bonus! I also offer Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Alternatives for Families Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (AF-CBT), Let’s Connect, Collaborative Assessment and Management of Suicidality (CAMS), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Integrative Attachment Family Therapy (IAFT).
