My name is Sam Jones, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Stone Mountain, Georgia, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master's in Social Work from The University of Georgia. I work with adults and specialize in anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, and men's issues, using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy to help my clients create change and start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on each client's needs. I most frequently use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Emotionally Focused Therapy, as both modalities help me and the client focus on what matters most to them and provide a clear path to removing barriers to the life and relationships they desire. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for adults dealing with life transitions and relationship challenges. These often present as anxiety, depression, and stress. I work to help clients navigate these periods and build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves and develop healthy relationship patterns with others. My communication style My communication style is calm, validating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. My journey to mental healthcare I decided to become a therapist because I enjoy helping people become the best versions of themselves. I have been privileged to work with people in a variety of helping roles and settings, including as an assistant in a state library for the blind and disabled, a respiratory therapist, and a medical social worker. Growing up in a military family, I was fortunate to be exposed to and learn from a variety of cultures. These experiences have fostered in me a deep appreciation of and respect for the diversity of the human experience.
