Getting to know Sandra Orozco Loza

Hi there, I'm Sandra! My hope as a clinician is to help you live a fulfilled life. It takes courage to begin therapy and commitment to make lasting changes. Through collaborative exploration, I can help you identify your triggers, increase emotional self-awareness, and develop healthy coping skills. I am ready to build a meaningful therapeutic relationship to support you on your healing journey. My approach I specialize in working with adolescents and young adults. I have ample experience treating anxiety and depression through CBT and DBT. I have also provided therapy to individuals affected by trauma, substance abuse, domestic violence, and LGBTIQ issues. Throughout my years serving as a social worker and therapist, I have worked with neurodiverse patients. My focus I have experience working with patients who have been culturally oppressed, faced immigration status challenges, and identify with the LGBTIQ community. My primary work has been with adolescents and young adults. My communication style I believe that to help you succeed in reaching your treatment goals, communication must be respectful, empathetic, and honest. I will meet you where you are in your healing process while gently encouraging you to push beyond your comfort zone. My journey to therapy I have always been fascinated by the mind and how our perception of the world shapes not only how we think but also how we feel. I studied psychology and earned my Master’s in Social Work from San José State University, which deepened my understanding of effective treatments for common yet often misunderstood mental health conditions. Before becoming a therapist, I worked with children in foster care, gaining insight into how trauma impacts development and the lens through which we view the world. I also learned how our bodies remember trauma, how triggers affect relationships, and how deeply rooted beliefs about our past influence our ability to heal.
