Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Sara! Hello! My name is Sara Espinosa, and I am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (#105689). I earned my Master's in Marriage and Family Therapy from Alliant International University, Los Angeles Campus. My focus is interpersonal relational work with children, families, and parents. My approach Our work together will have an interpersonal relational psychodynamic approach and focus on how relationships impact and influence you. Individuals are born with the need to connect and feel heard and understood by those closest to us. We are shaped by early childhood experiences, the relationships we form with caregivers, and the patterns of rupture and repair within those relationships. My focus I work with children and their caregivers, adolescents, families, and provide individual parenting support for parents of young children and adolescents. I work with children and adolescents experiencing depression, disruptive mood dysregulation disorder, anxiety, separation anxiety, social anxiety disorder, non-suicidal self-injury, passive suicidal ideation, PTSD, and adjustment disorders. My communication style I strive to create a calm environment where patterns can emerge and be brought to awareness. When we build a positive relationship founded on trust and care, we will process those patterns and events together so you can learn new ways of relating to yourself and others. My journey to therapy I am forever on the journey of getting to know myself and becoming a better practitioner. I have worked with children and families for over 12 years, and it is my life's calling. My goals for you Understanding immediate symptom relief versus long-term processing goals is important. We may want symptom relief in the moment, but our journey to understanding why patterns and symptoms are created may take more time-this helps ensure additional symptoms don't reappear later.
