Sarah Buck, MA

Psychotherapist
CA
My name is Sarah Travis Buck, and I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I earned my Master's in Counseling from the University of Virginia and hold a Bachelor's degree from Wesleyan University. I work collaboratively with my clients to help them become more self-aware and accepting so they can realize their strengths, recognize obstacles in their path, and take steps to make the changes they need. Together, we will explore how you want to change your life, what it will take to make that happen, and what may be blocking you. My approach I use a mindfulness-based cognitive therapy approach, helping people tap into their strengths to solve problems in their lives. I believe every person has a natural capacity for healing that, once uncovered, leads to better mental and physical health. It is critical to address the whole person so that mental, physical, and spiritual needs are met. My focus I work with teens and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic pain, chronic illness, and trauma. My goal is to provide counseling that promotes a higher quality of life. I hope my clients gain increased clarity about their values, needs, and goals; recognize their own strengths and resiliency; build skills to manage and reduce stress; and make life changes that lead to greater well-being. My communication style I work in a warm, non-judgmental, and accepting manner. I strive to help clients feel accepted and at ease so we can work together to solve their problems. My journey to mental healthcare I find working as a therapist meaningful and rewarding because I am continually amazed by the resilience of the human spirit. I am drawn to listen deeply to each story and use my compassion and intentional presence to help people see ways to grow and change. My goals for you I focus my attention on what my clients identify as their most important goals to address.
