Sarah Cook, LPC

Psychotherapist
TX
Hi there, I'm Sarah! Hello, my name is Sarah Cook, MS, LPC. I earned my Master's in Counseling from Texas Woman's University and have been working as a psychotherapist since 2008. I enjoy working with teens, young adults, and adults, with a special interest in women's health surrounding PMS, PMDD, and post- and perinatal care. My approach My approach to therapy is eclectic. I prefer to meet the client where you are and with what you need; however, I tend to pull from CBT and solution-focused therapy during my sessions. My focus I typically work with young adults going through life changes and phases, as well as women struggling with PMS or PMDD. I am, however, comfortable working with all ages 12?99, women and men alike. My communication style My communication style is open and direct. I tend to speak my mind and say what I am thinking. I like to use humor when applicable-too much seriousness is not necessary to get our work done. My journey to mental healthcare My own life and childhood attracted me to becoming a therapist. I have faced my fair share of struggles as a child and young adult, including difficulties in my own relationships and struggles with PMDD and postpartum. My goals for you I want to know what your goals for therapy are, and I want to brainstorm with you on ways we can help you reach them. My first session with you During our first session, we will take time to get to know one another, explore what brings you here, and discuss goals and treatment planning.
