Getting to know Sarah Lynn Guzick
My goal is to increase self compassion and compassion for others as individual girls and women navigate their personal, academic and professional lives. I am taking individual female clients, teenage girls 13-18 and women over the age of 18 for virtual sessions throughout the state of California.
I am also able to take on couples and families for couples of family therapy which is informed by the work of John and Julie Gottman.
I enjoy spending quality time with friends and family, comedy, theatre, filmmaking, creative writing, improvisation, nature, traveling, film and television, documentaries, dancing and making art of all kinds.
I graduated from the High School for Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. In college, I studied theatre, documentary film and creative writing. I have a BA from Columbia College Chicago. While in Chicago, I was on the faculty at the Second City Training Center where I directed and co-wrote original sketch comedy revues and taught acting and improvisation to children, teens and adults. I received my master's in clinical psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles. I am currently based in the San Francisco Bay Area.
What should a new client know about working with you?
My therapeutic relationships are warm and engaging. I am here to support you through whatever challenges life has thrown your way. Our sessions will be authentic, collaborative, and conversational. I will support you in prioritizing yourself and your own needs. I will walk besides you through a difficult chapter in your life, help you process painful experiences, create healthier relational patterns, clarify life goals or learn to better manage stress. I am a compassionate, non-judgmental listener, and a fierce advocate who will encourage you to grow.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
