What should a new client know about working with you?

My priorities are being welcoming, respectful, grounded in relationship science, and supportive. I have extensive relational training, which is the advantage of working with a marriage and family therapist. Most therapists were trained to focus on individual diagnoses, such as anxiety and depression, while I recognize how these challenges are both causes and effects of relationship problems. I strive to create comfortability surrounding delicate topics, such as intimacy-related challenges. Above all, I am here to collaborate in helping you work through difficult times, ultimately emerging with stronger connections.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I take the time to make sure clients feel comfortable and heard. Initially, we’ll discuss your history, relationships, and what you hope to get out of therapy. If families and couples have different perspectives on therapeutic goals, we will make meaning of these differences, seeking to reconcile them. Then, we build a plan incorporating everyone’s voices. Using this plan as a launchpad, we get to the heart of therapy. We will identify patterns, explore their significance, craft new stories, build skills, and have conversations that are unlikely to occur anywhere else. Throughout the therapeutic process, goals are met, while others evolve and are introduced. I am excited to get to know you.
