What should a new client know about working with you?

Regardless of what you come in for, I will meet you where you are and develop a treatment plan with your input. I recognize the importance of developing relationships with my clients that are based in trust and hope. My top priority is creating an affirming and safe space where you can feel comfortable to address difficulties with honesty and vulnerability. I strive to incorporate practices that are intended to give space to your experience and empower you. My hope is that the relationship we form helps you find some clarity and relief.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My first 3-4 sessions are considered the assessment phase. During these sessions, I will ask open-ended questions that will allow me to understand your reasons for seeking treatment. This period also allows me to begin considering forms of treatment that may be most effective for you. I often incorporate the Adult Attachment Interview into my assessment phase to better understand relational patterns and family dynamics. After the assessment phase, I will discuss options for treatment and collaborate with you to develop a plan that will provide a sense of direction in our work together. We will discuss together what progress will look like for you and what may be indicators of progress. Every 3-4 sessions, I will check in with you to see how you are feeling about the therapeutic process, and if any tweaks are necessary. My ideal clients are individual adults experiencing difficulty connecting with others meaningfully, successfully navigating life transitions, or effectively regulating emotions.
