“Easy to talk to. I always try to be aware of my surroundings and what I can do to improve myself for being centered and happy, and she notices things I can do to improve or look at from a different perspective. It’s a nice feeling to take those things into life and see a difference.”

Getting to know Sarah Valenzuela

Like many clinicians, I began my journey into the healing profession after experiencing my own trauma. The help I received was life-changing, and it inspired me to make helping others overcome their life obstacles my life mission. I started my counseling career in 2016 and have since supported a diverse range of clients, including children, teens, families, and adults. I am a client-centered clinician who uses empathy, positivity, and encouragement to foster healing. I believe that building a warm and trusting relationship with clients is the key to opening the door to healing. I also incorporate evidence-based theories and interventions such as cognitive behavioral therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to teach and guide clients. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling from California Baptist University, which has provided me with a strong foundation to support my clinical work.
