Psychotherapist
MA
Hi there, I'm Satya! “Adversity is opportunity in disguise.” My name is Satya, As a South Asian bisexual woman and first-generation immigrant, I bring a unique perspective to psychotherapy. Due to my training as a trauma therapist, my cultural experience, and years of private practice experience, I take a holistic and individualized approach to treatment. My focus is on the strengths that the individual sees in themselves and those hidden. Together, we will utilize those strengths to help direct the treatment process. My approach My Master of Social Work is from Fordham University, and my PhD is from Boston College School of Social Work. I have worked in various community-based non-profit organizations for over 27 years, providing supervision, leadership, and clinical training to new and seasoned clinicians As a licensed clinical social worker with a doctorate in social work, I use several evidence-based practices to provide authentic and culturally sensitive care. These practices can include cognitive behavioral therapy, energy psychology, multicultural therapy, person-centered therapy, attachment theory, and trauma therapy to create an individualized treatment plan. I believe that every individual seeking treatment has the resilience and inherent strength to navigate our world. My job as a therapist is to help them find that strength, the belief that they can change their lives to be what they want despite their current or past struggles. I combine talk therapy with homework assignments to move the individual's healing process forward to reach their goals. My focus My goal is to provide a safe and therapeutic environment to assist with the healing process. My services include couples, adolescents, and adults, family therapy, and addressing grief/loss, mood disorders, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and managing life stressors. I am also poly-knowledgeable and kink-knowledgeable.
