Getting to know Scott Alpert

With over thirty years of experience offering counseling services to a variety of patients in diverse environments, I hold graduate degrees in both mental health and addictions. I earned my Master's in Counseling Psychology from Bowie State University, a Bachelor's from the University of Maryland, and an Associate's from Dean College. I specialize in working with young adults and college students, as well as other populations including chronic pain sufferers, those with chronic and terminal illnesses, and first responders coping with PTSD. My ability to understand these challenges comes from both professional training and personal experience, including my time as a Special Agent in Maryland and nearly ten years working on a large university campus. I am skilled in an eclectic blend of counseling approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian therapy, EMDR, and Dissociative Regression Therapy.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
