Getting to know Scott Seaman

I am a Licensed Therapist (LMFT) with a Doctor of Counseling Psychology degree from Argosy University and a master's degree from National University. Based in North San Diego County, California, I work with clients statewide through telehealth and in-office visits. I specialize in working with adults ages 30 to 80, focusing on anxiety, stress, and clinical issues. I use a variety of treatment approaches, including Positive Psychology, Cognitive Restructuring Therapy, Rational Emotive Therapy, and Personal Development, to help my clients achieve success in life and start feeling better. I provide both group and individual therapy and supervise interns. My approach Hello, nice to meet you. People are smart but not always objective, which is why a professional can be valuable in helping sort things out. Once clarity and insight are gained, individuals can move forward in ways that were previously blocked. My therapeutic approach centers on discovering and strengthening these mental processes with the goal of stabilization, balance, and growth. This naturally leads to a more loving life, creating joy in relationships, finances, health, and community. My focus I have found that my style and approach fit well with adults facing life's challenges, often manifesting as anxiety, depression, stress, or substance use disorders. I work to help clients navigate these challenges and build skills that allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is relaxed and promotes dialogue that fosters insight, reduces stress, and supports personal development. I want my clients to feel comfortable discussing anything with me. I am open and a good listener. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist by accident over 30 years ago when a judge (that's another story) asked me what I planned to do with my life. Off the top of my head, I said I wanted to go into psychology.
