Hello, I'm Sean. Trusting a therapist with thoughts and emotions we aren't comfortable facing ourselves can seem embarrassing and perhaps even terrifying. Therapy is a difficult process, and I work to face those challenges with my clients head-on. My mission is to help empower my clients to create positive life changes. I've been called blunt and no-nonsense by my clients, but they also say I have a calm demeanor that provides a balance to this approach. One client described my therapy style as putting puzzle pieces together to gain a clear picture of their thoughts and emotions. I focus on the present moment in your life and how the past and future are impacting that moment. I seek to be genuine and invested in each session. I specialize in a Gestalt therapy style that combines elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. I can help with trauma, stress, anxiety, depression, and other life issues. I hold a Master's degree in Counseling (MC) and am a Licensed Professional Counselor. My areas of specialization include addiction, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anger management, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, family relationships, grief/bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, life transitions, medical issues/physical health, OCD, phobias, PTSD, intimate/romantic relationships, psychosis/schizophrenia, sex/intimacy issues, stress, suicidal ideation and/or self-harming, and trauma. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer virtual sessions. Taking the first steps into positive life changes is a scary and empowering experience.
