Hi there, I'm Sean! Hello! I'm Sean Gearson, a licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Tennessee. I graduated with a master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from Harding School of Theology in 2010 and have been working with youth and families ever since. I take a client-centered and solution-focused approach to therapy and have expertise working with survivors of trauma and traumatic grief. My approach I believe people do well if they can. If you are having difficulty in some way, we will work together to understand what is getting in the way of reaching your goals or functioning in a manner consistent with your needs. Then, we can begin the work of helping you reach the level of well-being you desire. I have training in several evidence-based approaches (CBT, TF-CBT, A-CRA, ART, and CPS) that are helpful in addressing a variety of presenting issues. My focus I typically work with people who recognize something is not working for them and are not always sure what it is or what to do about it. I have experience working with people with a variety of mental health needs like anxiety, depression, ADHD, and PTSD. My communication style I hope to provide a warm and safe therapeutic environment for people to find rest and healing. In my undergraduate studies, I initially thought I wanted to be a preacher but quickly realized my passion for helping others came from working one-on-one and not from a pulpit. My goals for you Einstein is quoted as saying, ?If I had one hour to solve a problem, I'd spend 55 minutes thinking about the problem and 5 minutes thinking about solutions.? There is great wisdom in this! Once we understand the problem, we can begin to identify goals and small incremental steps to meeting those goals.
