Sean Martiny, LCPC

Psychotherapist
IL
With over 10 years of experience in therapy, I specialize in utilizing mindfulness-based treatments such as Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and a family systems approach. This allows me to tailor the therapeutic experience to best fit each client's individual needs. Through this integrative approach, I am well equipped to aid adolescents, adults, and immediate family units in lessening life-interfering symptoms that contribute to anxiety, depression, anger, and relational issues. Together, we work toward building greater self-understanding, increased confidence, and a deeper sense of happiness within oneself. I hold a Master's degree in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology, which has provided me with a strong foundation in evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Each of us has the capacity to reach our fullest potential, yet we often find ourselves stuck in negative patterns of thinking and being, unable to see other possibilities. Therapy offers individuals and families the opportunity to create meaning from their life experiences and to open new pathways for thinking, feeling, and being. I provide individual, family, and couples counseling in a comfortable and confidential setting. I work with those experiencing trauma, anger management challenges, self-injury, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, identity concerns, and self-esteem issues.
