Getting to know Sean Odwyer
My name is Sean O'Dwyer, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from the University of Southern California. I have a background in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy as well as relational and intersubjective approaches. I work primarily with adults and specialize in treating anxiety, attachment concerns, life transitions, grief and loss, self-esteem, co-dependency, depression, and relationships.
My approach is holistic and compassionate, utilizing cognitive, somatic, and mindfulness interventions to help you meet your goals. I believe in creating a safe space where you can openly discuss what needs to be talked about without fear of judgment. My communication style is gentle, kind, and empathic, fostering corrective experiences that support healing and growth.
I've always been fascinated by working with adults and enhancing skills that contribute to a life well lived. I appreciate the passion and motivation adults bring to making necessary changes and finding their own version of happiness.
Collaborative goal setting is important to me, and I regularly check in on goals during sessions to ensure we are progressing toward what you intend for yourself. During our first session, I'm happy to discuss the flow of therapy, my approach to treatment, and demonstrate how collaborative this process can be. This is an opportunity to ask fundamental questions about therapy, and my role is to explain how those questions can be addressed.

Kind, insightful, able to parse some kind of logical path forward from my junk-drawer-emptied-on-a-trampoline brain, and exceptional “bedside manner.” Highly recommend. I always feel uplifted, validated and more focused after our sessions. Thank you, Sean, see ya next week! :)

I’ve had a genuinely positive experience with my therapist. From the beginning, they’ve created a space where I feel heard, respected, and never judged. They ask thoughtful questions, help me see situations from new perspectives, and provide practical tools that I can actually use outside of our sessions. One of the things I appreciate most is that they don’t just listen they challenge me in a supportive way when I need it, while still making me feel understood.

Sean is not only caring and thoughtful—table stakes for a therapist—but he also brings a wonderful, gentle manner and a remarkable depth of insight into the sessions. I feel like I've hit the jackpot with Sean, and always look forward to our sessions.
