What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, and you deserve a space where you feel comfortable being yourself. My style is warm, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I take a trauma-informed, person-centered approach, which means I listen closely to your experiences, respect your pace, and work with you to understand what matters most to you. You won’t be expected to share more than you feel ready to share. I work with adolescents and adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, life transitions, and other emotional concerns. Together, we can make sense of what you’re experiencing, recognize your strengths, and develop practical ways to cope with difficult moments. Therapy is a process, and I’ll check in with you along the way so our work continues to support your goals. I offer sessions in English and Spanish.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is a chance for you to settle in and see what it feels like to talk with me. I know it can take time to feel comfortable with someone new, so we’ll begin wherever you are. You can tell me as much or as little as you’re ready to share. I’ll ask what led you to seek therapy now, how things have been affecting your day-to-day life, and what you would like to be different. We may also talk about the people, experiences, and personal strengths that help you get through difficult times. You don’t need to arrive with a clear goal—we can discover what you need as we go. In future sessions, we’ll make room for what is happening in your life while also looking more closely at feelings or patterns you want to understand. Sometimes our work may focus on processing an experience; other times, we may practice a skill to help you manage anxiety, navigate a relationship, or cope with change. I’ll invite your feedback so our sessions stay connected to what matters to you. My hope is that you leave each visit feeling heard, supported, and a little more equipped to take your next step.
