“I chose the two things that stand out the most to me about Shabby's style, but she embodies all of them. She's warm, authentic, direct, funny as hell and so empowering. She made sure to understand my needs and integrated them well into our sessions. She's extraordinarily empathic and is able to restate my perspective so well and also provide really great practical advice. I can't say enough good things about her and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone who is seeking out talk therapy.”

Getting to know Shabby Casey

Hi! I'm an LCSW based in California. I received my Master's in Social Work from New York University. I chose social work because we look at each person as an interconnected being who lives within a larger network of people, such as families and communities. We don't see your issues as yours alone, as if you exist in a bubble, but as part of a larger fabric of factors. I believe this is a much more humanistic approach to mental health. I have been practicing for 15 years and have worked with all ages and communities of people. I especially love working with young adults transitioning into the world as independent individuals. I enjoy helping young adults, college students, and young professionals navigate self-identity, passions, relationships, and careers while becoming the best versions of themselves. I also love working with new mothers as they navigate their new identities, helping them stay connected to themselves in the process. I spent several years as a Mommy and Me instructor and love witnessing the evolution of motherhood.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
