Life can become overwhelming when you're managing stress, family responsibilities, relationship difficulties, grief, past experiences, or major life changes while still trying to keep everything together. Sometimes you need a space where you can put everything else aside, focus on yourself, and feel genuinely heard. I am a Licensed Social Worker (LSW) with more than 10 years of experience in the social work field. I have supported children, adolescents, adults, and families across school, community, child welfare, correctional, behavioral health, and clinical settings. My experience includes individual and family therapy, school social work, Child Study Team case management, child welfare, crisis intervention, parent education, and case management. I work with clients experiencing trauma, grief and loss, relationship and family challenges, life transitions, stress, emotional concerns, and other circumstances that may leave them feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, or unsure of what to do next. My approach to therapy is warm, supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental. I believe you are the expert on your own experiences, and therapy should build upon your strengths rather than focus only on what's going wrong. Depending on your needs and goals, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Family Therapy, strengths-based interventions, and trauma-informed care. Together, we will identify the concerns bringing you to therapy, recognize your strengths, establish meaningful and realistic goals, and develop practical strategies that can help you create positive and lasting change. As a Christian therapist, I also welcome the integration of Christian faith, spirituality, prayer, and faith-based principles into therapy for clients who desire it. Faith integration is always based on your preferences and comfort level. Clients of all backgrounds and beliefs are welcome.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I don't believe therapy should feel like someone is simply telling you what to do. I view therapy as a partnership. We'll work together to understand what's happening in your life, identify patterns that may be contributing to your concerns, recognize the strengths and resources you already possess, and develop strategies you can realistically use outside of therapy. My approach is strengths-based, person-centered, trauma-informed, and solution-focused. Depending on your needs, our sessions may include exploring thoughts and behaviors, developing healthier coping skills, strengthening communication, improving emotional awareness, establishing boundaries, processing difficult experiences, or identifying practical solutions to current challenges. My therapy style is warm, compassionate, collaborative, and supportive, while also being goal-oriented and practical. I want you to feel comfortable talking openly without worrying about being judged. At the same time, I believe therapy should help you move forward. We'll work together to better understand your concerns and develop practical tools that can help you manage challenges, strengthen relationships, and make meaningful changes. As a Christian therapist, I welcome clients who would like their Christian faith and spirituality incorporated into therapy. For some clients, faith is an important source of strength, meaning, identity, and hope. When requested, we can explore how your beliefs and spiritual values can support your therapeutic goals. Faith-based counseling is completely optional. Your beliefs and preferences will always be respected, and clients from all backgrounds are welcome.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and begin identifying what you would like to accomplish through therapy. We'll talk about what brought you to therapy, what's currently happening in your life, relevant experiences from your past, your strengths and support system, and the changes you would like to see. You will also have an opportunity to ask questions and determine whether you feel comfortable working with me. From there, we'll begin developing goals and a treatment approach tailored to your individual needs.
