Getting to know Shalyse Jensen

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who enjoys working one-on-one with clients to best meet their mental health goals. I use multiple techniques, tailoring therapy to your unique needs. I welcome feedback to ensure you get the help you seek-this is your therapy! I have expertise with adults and teens/children, primarily addressing depression, anxiety, life transitions, and relationship challenges. I look forward to working with you! I earned my Master's in Social Work from Our Lady of the Lake University, which laid the foundation for my client-centered approach. My approach I commonly use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am client-centered, using motivational interviewing, talk therapy, and mindfulness to help clients identify their own goals. My focus I work with teens and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, life transitions, relationship challenges, and trauma. My communication style I have a cheerful nature and genuinely enjoy seeing and talking with clients. I create space for clients to process difficult feelings in an accepting atmosphere, encouraging exploration without judgment. I am gently direct and willing to challenge clients when necessary, always with compassion and patience. My journey to mental healthcare As a teenager, I was told I had a "peacemaker" temperament, which stayed with me into adulthood. I felt fulfilled helping others, especially helping them help themselves. Therapy felt like a superpower-helping others find real solutions to real problems. My own experience with depression led me to a therapist who gave me the right guidance at the right time, inspiring my career choice.
