Shana Jackson is supervised by Carrie Manning. ***BEFORE SCHEDULING, PLEASE NOTE:*** 1. You must complete our online consent and intake forms before your child's appointment. (You will receive an email from Reach Counseling with a link.) 2. You will be required to leave a credit card on file for payment of your scheduled sessions. We do not accept insurance. 3. If your child is a minor, the first appointment is for the parent only to discuss your concerns. *********************************** Seeing your teenager struggle emotionally can be so hard. You may have difficulty reading their moods or understanding their behavior. One minute they are up, and the next minute they are down. Sometimes their behavior may seem out of control with yelling, slamming, physical aggression, and acting out. Your teen may be dealing with depression or anxiety. You see them struggling and falling apart under all their school and social pressures, and it breaks your heart. It feels overwhelming and exhausting as a parent (and maybe a little enraging at times). You want to help your teen reach a better place of peace and calm. My joy is working with kids and teens ages 10 and up. I love the growth that happens during these years and enjoy walking alongside adolescents and families on that journey. Building a strong, trusting relationship is my goal! I have over 20 years of counseling experience working with kids and teens facing a wide range of concerns and behaviors. I hold a Master of Education in School Counseling from Midwestern State University. I work with children, teens, parents, and young adults in our North Fort Worth office. I currently have evening and weekend availability. Reaching out for help is a brave step forward. Our mission is to partner with parents and caregivers to help your family reach your goals.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I integrate an eclectic style in my work with kids and teens, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy. I strive to make therapy engaging and interactive with my clients. I utilize play-based interventions for younger clients, and I use activities-based and creative interventions for teens, all while building an atmosphere of trust and safety.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Here are some important facts about working with us: 1. You will receive an email from Reach Counseling with a link to complete the intake and consent forms. These forms must be completed before your first appointment, or the appointment must be rescheduled. 2. You must also leave a credit card on file for payment for future appointments. We do not accept insurance, so payment is due after each session. 3. If your child is a minor, the first session will be with the parent to go over your concerns to formulate a plan to help best help your child. 4. If you share custody of your child, we will need to get the consent of the other parent to provide counseling services to your child. We will also need the custody arrangement on file. 5. After the first Intake session with the parent, we will schedule the first session for your child's therapy. We recommend that sessions be scheduled weekly for the first 6 sessions to help build rapport and momentum. 6. We cannot see children ages 8 and under virtually. We believe that younger clients better benefit from in-person appointments. We are happy to schedule in-person appointments at our North Fort Worth office.
