She comes with 15 years of experience working in social services and is a licensed social worker in NYC. Throughout her career, she has worked with diverse populations across a vast range of socioeconomic statuses. She has counseled individuals and families dealing with depression, provided brief interventions including crisis management in community and medical settings, including residential care. She specializes in working with teens and young adults and their families. Shaniqua prides herself on building strong rapport first with clients because she understands therapy can be extremely difficult for anyone struggling with mental health issues. It's important that clients feel comfortable to fully share and express themselves during the darkest moments of their lives. Her training and experience include work with violence against women, including sexual assault and domestic violence, depression, anxiety, life stressors, grief and loss, and experiential therapy such as psychodrama.
