Getting to know Shanna Rayyan

I’m Shanna Rayyan, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and therapist passionate about helping my clients work through their traumas, hardships, and mental illness to improve their quality of life. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from California State University, Sacramento. I use an eclectic approach, implementing various evidence-based therapeutic modalities that best fit each client’s unique life story, needs, and goals. My approach I utilize therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Psychodynamic Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Family Therapy. My focus I have experience working with people of all ages and backgrounds, particularly survivors of domestic and sexual violence, LGBTQ/queer populations, and families, including foster and adoptive families. I treat depression, anxiety, mood and eating disorders, body image issues, OCD, PTSD, and grief/adjustment disorders. My communication style I consider myself approachable and down-to-earth, providing a judgment-free, safe environment. I use authenticity, humor, and unconditional positive regard for the humanity of my clients to guide our work together, creating trust, safety, and hope. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I wanted to support people through life’s toughest moments. My motivation comes from my own experiences with trauma, obstacles, and mental struggles, and the desire to use that understanding to help others. I want my clients to know they are not alone—that they are cared for, understood, heard, seen, and treated with the respect they deserve. I am a healer driven to connect with and uplift people, empowering them to thrive and find hope for a better future. My goals for you Goal setting with my clients is a collaborative, client-led process.
