Congratulations on taking this important step in your recovery journey. And thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me as a therapist. Choosing a therapist can be challenging (and maybe even a little anxiety provoking!). Yet, it is important to take the time to find someone you feel may be a good fit to work with towards achieving your wellness goals and living a more fulfilling life. Actually living life, even loving life and not just tolerating it. Here is a little about me and my own path as a therapist, and should you feel like we may be a good fit I genuinely look forward to meeting and hopefully working with you. Each of our personal experiences, dreams, goals, hopes, and needs, both in life and in therapy are unique and individual. You may know exactly what those are for you, or you may feel lost and overwhelmed. Either way, my role is to help you along your own path. To help define what you are struggling with and take the steps needed to work through those struggles and challenges. Whatever your reason for seeking therapy, know it can be an incredibly valuable tool for finding what you are looking for. I have lived experience with mental illness, am a person of color, and the daughter of a 1st generation immigrant. I’ve been in the mental health field for over 20 years working with children/adolescents, families, couples, and adults, both in the public sector and private practice. I earned my Bachelor’s from National University and my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from California State University, Sacramento. I started my career working with children in group homes, foster care, and with forensic involvement. My passion as a therapist took me in many directions. I’ve worked for many years as a clinical supervisor for new therapists and as an executive operations director in public mental health. Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim.
