Shannon Dion, LMHC

Psychotherapist
MA
I have practiced in the clinical world for over two decades, working with children with special needs, particularly adolescents and adults navigating new world challenges. I have vast experience with adults, women’s mental health, parents of special needs children, grief, and anxiety. I have worked in many areas of mental health, including schools, clinics, youth detention, adult criminal reporting, and as an adjunct college professor. In our first session together, here's what you can expect Our first session is a chance for us to get to know each other in a comfortable, judgment-free space. We’ll talk about what’s bringing you to therapy, your current challenges, and what you hope to gain from the process. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, experiences, and goals, but there’s no pressure to share everything at once, we’ll move at your pace. Together, we’ll begin to outline a path forward that feels supportive and meaningful to you. The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions My greatest strengths include creating a warm, supportive space where clients feel comfortable being themselves—humor and laughter are an important part of that process. I believe that even in difficult moments, finding lightness can help build connection, perspective, and resilience. I use a solution-focused, client-centered approach, helping clients identify strengths and build practical coping strategies. Clients often appreciate my ability to balance compassion with practicality, creating a space that feels both supportive and productive. The clients I'm best positioned to serve I work best with adults and older adolescents who are navigating life transitions, managing anxiety, coping with grief, or feeling overwhelmed by day-to-day stressors. I have extensive experience supporting women’s mental health and working with parents of children with special needs, helping them balance caregiving demands with their own well-being.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
