Getting to know Shannon Hock

*Note that prior to the first session with the provider, LifeStance will require a credit card on file. *LifeStance providers do not accept Medicare or Medicaid insurance. If booking with these, you will be unable to be seen. Shannon feels the relationship with a client is the most important aspect of counseling. With a safe and trusting environment, she and her clients collaboratively work through specific needs. She believes clients should feel empowered in counseling, decision-making, and life. Open and honest communication about difficulties and the counseling process is key to success. She aims to create a brave space where clients can be vulnerable, try new things, and speak openly in a place where they feel accepted rather than judged. Counseling can be uncomfortable but also fun and rewarding. Shannon finds it important to bring humor alongside the hard work in each session. While Shannon uses different approaches with each client, a strengths-based approach is central to her work. Everyone seeking treatment has strengths that bring success throughout the journey. The first strength is making an appointment and seeking change. These strengths drive treatment success, build courage, and tap into other assets. Shannon has experience working with a range of clients, in ages and reasons for treatment. She finds counseling an adventure for children, adolescents, and adults. Forming a relationship and becoming part of someone’s life is an honor, and Shannon strives to work as hard as her clients throughout this process. Shannon earned her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Adler University, equipping her with skills and knowledge to support clients effectively across diverse needs.
