“Shannon is the perfect therapist for me. She treats our sessions more like a conversation which allows me to open up more than I would from someone repeatedly asking me, “So how does that make you feel?” Instead it feels like a conversation with a friend.”

Getting to know Shannon Loos

Hello there, I'm Shannon Loos, LPCC. If you're feeling overwhelmed and dissatisfied in life right now, you are not alone! I work with clients to improve anxiety, depression, adjustment and transitions, burnout, relationships and dating, trauma, self-esteem and confidence, self-care, coping skills, and more. To best help, I use a person-centered, strength-based approach to help clients organize their thoughts, navigate behavior patterns and obstacles, and clarify steps toward their unique goals. I help clients explore what might be holding them back and uncover a way forward filled with acceptance and balance. I hold a Master’s in Art Therapy from Naropa University and a Bachelor’s from the University of Missouri, Columbia. My overall approach is one of creativity and trust in YOU at the present moment. When you are ready, go ahead and reach out. We can get through the struggle together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with clients to grow their understanding of themselves, and collect skills/tools that will work best for the unique individuals they are. Clients can expect to learn tangible ways to help themselves in the moment, while bringing the awareness to the "Why" the thought/behavior/reaction is coming up at all. I usually assign a small "homework" prompt between sessions in which the client can practice what was discussed in the session, such as coping skills, mantras, routines, self care, and so on. This creates continuity between sessions, and makes the process feel a bit more active.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
