Hi there, I'm Shannon! Thank you for considering me as your therapist. I consider it a true honor and privilege to partner with clients during a portion of your life's journey to offer support, a safe place to explore yourself, and succeed in achieving your goals. My approach I'm a licensed professional counselor dedicated to helping individuals navigate life's challenges with compassion, clarity, and evidence-based care. With a cognitive behavioral approach, I help to reduce symptoms of anxiety, depression, anger, relationship issues, and life transitions. My goal is to create a safe, non-judgmental space where you feel heard and supported as you work toward healing and personal growth. I believe in empowering you to develop the insight and tools you need to lead a more balanced and fulfilling life. I approach mental health issues from a Cognitive Behavioral Theory mindset. Our mind thinks, and our body responds. I use different techniques to gain insight into your thought patterns and then help evaluate the thoughts causing distress. My focus I work with adults who are motivated for change. Something is troublesome or interfering with your quality of life, and you'd like a change. Oftentimes, the change needs to come from within because that's all we can control. Mental health distress and be revealed, and I'd like to help. My communication style I encourage honest and open communication. I practice active listening skills and teach skills along the way for you to take with you for life. I am speak assertively and will also challenge you to help you grow. My journey to mental healthcare Some may say I started my education and professional career late in life. I started my family first, partially because I hadn't decided on what career path to choose. As my family grew, I began to think more about a career and question what was important to me. What did I value enough that I would be willing to spend hours investing in and influencing?
