Psychotherapist
CA
Hi there, I'm Shanti! Welcome to my profile! My name is Shanti Sanchez, and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in Walnut Creek, California. I offer mental health services to clients throughout the state of California via telehealth. I work with individuals 18 and older and specialize in anxiety, depression, trauma, and eating disorders, using Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused CBT (TF-CBT), and Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (FBT). My vocation is to help others and I am excited to offer my supportive services to you. My approach I take an eclectic approach to therapy, incorporating skills, techniques, and methods from multiple theories, and customize a client’s treatment based on their needs. I most frequently use Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Cognitive Behavior Therapy, as both modalities permit me and the client to work collaboratively and track progress in the moment. My focus My style and approach are fit for young, middle-aged, and older adults who may be experiencing life challenges including entering adulthood, midlife changes, or pressures of daily living activities. Prolonged exposure to stress caused by such difficulties can lead to the development of mental health disorders such as anxiety and depression, amongst other ailments. I support my clients in overcoming their mental health symptoms by working with them collaboratively in developing goals for recovery, teaching them coping skills to manage and decrease symptoms, and ultimately achieving their goals in order to have a better quality of life. My communication style My style of communication is relaxed, welcoming, empathic, and genuine. I want to convey my unconditional positive regard to my clients and help them feel confident enough to be open in our discussions. I am skilled at listening attentively and without judgment.
