“I started seeing Ms. Sharon several years ago. She has navigated me through: 1) being a solo parent of a brilliant ADHD kiddo with opposition defiant behavior, 2) staying at an extremely toxic job b/c I was a solo parent parent who couldn't afford to change jobs, 3) my mother's sudden death, and 4) how I responded to my family's multiple mental health challenges including familial bipolar disorder, depression, alcoholism, etc. Ms. Sharon has walked me through every step and provided me tools.”

Getting to know Sharon Griffin
Hi there, I'm Sharon!
Starting therapy for the first time or switching to a new therapist can feel overwhelming. I'm here to support you through that transition. Whether you're seeking individual, couples, or family therapy, I offer a range of specialties and am committed to helping you address your unique needs.
My approach
My approach to care is rooted in patient-centered principles, guided by an individualized perspective that respects each person’s unique preferences, needs, and values. Building and sustaining a strong therapeutic relationship begins with meeting you where you are. With the utilization of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), we will work collaboratively to identify distorted thoughts, perceptions, or belief systems. By applying CBT techniques such as reframing negative thinking and modifying self-talk, we can influence emotional responses and behavioral expressions, including anger, sadness, and anxiety. Are you ready to embrace change? I invite you to take that first step, and I will walk alongside you throughout the journey.
My focus
Are there areas of your life that feel difficult to manage? You may be experiencing depression, feelings of inadequacy, challenges with anger management, or facing relationship issues at work or home. Whatever your specific concerns may be, I am here to support you in developing a personalized plan and the tools needed to move forward and create meaningful change.
My communication style
As a clinician, I foster an open and nonjudgmental style of communication, creating a space where you can speak freely without fear of criticism. I am not only here to listen, but I am committed to truly understanding what you share. To ensure clarity and insight, I may ask questions that help deepen my understanding. I view each person as a unique individual, and your voice is essential to both our therapeutic relationship and your personal growth.

Sharon listens well. She is empathetic. Has good insights. Encourages positive thinking and normalizing challenging life situations that can often feel overwhelming. I appreciate our sessions, and leave them feeling more equipped to handle what I’m facing.

For a first session, I would’ve preferred more discovery and asking me questions to figure out how to provide the best care. There were assumptions and lots of personal stories that didn’t relate to my experience. Nice lady but not the right fit for me.
