Psychotherapist
GA
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes in healing our lifetime wounds by learning to accept our experiences and using them to create the life we want. My approach I come to your sessions with openness to your needs and what you bring to the table. You will tell me what your needs are, and together we will decide the best way to meet them. I use many therapeutic techniques to help you discover what works best for you. My focus With many years of experience, I have worked with a wide range of mental health issues. Over time, I have seen that many challenges stem from childhood and the irrational beliefs formed from those early perceptions. Trauma often underlies anxiety, depression, and overall stress. If this is something you want to explore, please reach out. My communication style Many clients tell me they feel comfortable talking with me. I consider myself laid-back and easy to talk to. I use humor when appropriate and can be serious when necessary. I listen carefully and strive to understand what you are communicating. Think of me as your best secret keeper and therapeutic "best friend." My journey to mental healthcare I LOVE what I do! I have been in the field for 20 years, providing services in many areas, but I always return to individual and family therapy. I enjoy seeing clients find what they are looking for and live the lives they want. I want people to find their way to Enjoy the Process! My education includes a PhD in Psychology from Walden University and a Master's degree from Troy University. My goals for you In goal setting, we will identify: What would you like to work on? Why are you here? And how can I help? My first session with you I begin the first session by reviewing the "rules"-confidentiality (except in cases of suicidal or homicidal ideations), session length, any previous counseling, and then ask, "What can I help you with?"
