My passion for trauma counseling has been the cornerstone of my career, and I am committed to providing a safe and supportive space for you to explore and overcome the challenges you face. I bring a wealth of experience to my practice, having served as the Director of Behavioral Health in the US Virgin Islands. While I valued my time in that role, I missed the direct connection with clients and returned to the therapeutic space to assist survivors more personally. My background includes five years as a Crisis Mental Health and Legal Advocate with Partnership Against Domestic Violence, where I worked extensively in domestic violence prevention and intervention with men, women, and children. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Africana Studies from the University of Miami and a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University. My journey continued with four years at the Virgin Islands Housing Authority as a Resident Opportunity and Self-Sufficiency (ROSS) Coordinator before relocating to Atlanta to pursue my Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from Mercer University. During my time at Mercer, I also served as an adjunct professor. My concentration of study was completed at the University of Maryland, focusing on crisis, violence, trauma, and torture interventions. I specialize in a range of areas including adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, family relationships, grief/bereavement, intimate/romantic relationships, life transitions, military/veteran support, multicultural/diversity issues, psychosis/schizophrenia, PTSD, stress, and trauma.
