“Shauna is kind and understanding. I feel like she is really listening to me when I talk to her. She feels like she's on my team/side. She does an amazing job at helping me come to self realizations that I might already know myself but just need a little help remembering. I would recommend her to others.”

Getting to know Shauna Warda

My name is Shauna Warda. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) based in Salinas, California, and I work with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master’s in Counseling from John F. Kennedy University. I work with adolescents, adults, and families, specializing in anxiety, stress, and parenting issues. Using an assortment of therapeutic interventions and strategies, I help my clients make progress and start feeling better. My approach My approach to therapy varies based on each client’s needs. I most frequently use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Systems, and Narrative Therapy, as these modalities help us build a shared understanding of your reality and allow us to work together to chart a path forward. My focus I have found that my style and approach are a good fit for teens and young adults who may be dealing with life transitions and social pressures, often presenting as anxiety, depression, and stress. I work to help my clients navigate these periods and build skills that foster a better sense of self and a more positive outlook on life. My communication style My communication style is calm, contemplative, accommodating, and personable. I want my clients to feel comfortable talking with me about anything, and I pride myself on my ability to listen without judgment. My journey to therapy I decided to become a therapist because I have always wanted to help people. For me, this means listening and bearing witness to the issues that interfere with individuals becoming the best versions of themselves. My goals for you My approach to goal setting is collaborative, focusing on defining what you want to accomplish in our time together. This often begins by building trust and getting comfortable with what it means to be in therapy. Over time, we will work together to set goals and track your progress.
