Psychotherapist
OH
Hi there, I'm Shawn! Entering into therapy is an opportunity to do more than just symptom management, it is an opportunity to take a personal journey towards pursuing a life rich with meaning and purpose, regardless of the obstacles. My approach Therapy will be a shared collaboration that does not seek to judge but to understand and care about what matters to you, the client. To explore what it looks like and sounds like to pursue that which matters with regard to what you think, feel, and do. It inevitably helps to clarify and grow (regardless of age) an adult identity that is more resilient and whole. "For what you see and hear depends a good deal on where you are standing. It also depends on what sort of person you are" - C.S. Lewis. My focus Whether you have been struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, estrangement, or any other kind of loss or disruption in life, there is meaning and purpose to be found in navigating all of it. Young or old, it matters that it's YOU. I will help you to explore, struggle with, and experience this fundamental truth. My communication style I value and endeavor to foster a collaborative and causal conversational style of therapy. Everything is grist for the therapy mill. I will listen actively, attentively, compassionately, and without judgment to all that is shared as it reveals who you are in unique and fascinating ways. I do not demand or expect that I should know everything about you, but whatever you do decide to share allows me to care all the more about you and empowers us both to make the journey that is therapy transformative.
