Shawnta Clarke, LPC

Psychotherapist
GA
Greetings, I am a licensed therapist in Georgia with a master's degree in School Counseling from Capella University and an Ed.S. from Valdosta University. With six years as a nationally certified counselor, I specialize in supporting young adults facing depression, anxiety, grief, and life challenges. My primary focus is empowering African American women on their mental well-being journey. My approach I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients reshape thought patterns and alleviate symptoms of depression and anxiety. Through collaborative exploration and targeted interventions, I guide clients in transforming cognitive processes for better emotional health. I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) to help clients accept their thoughts and emotions. Sessions include teaching DBT personal skills and emphasizing interpersonal skills for healthier relationships. This integrative approach helps clients embrace internal experiences while developing tools to enhance personal and interpersonal well-being. Additionally, I use Brief Solution-Focused Therapy (BSFT) to help clients identify and implement solutions through structured steps. BSFT focuses on current and future circumstances and goals, redirecting attention from past experiences. In this goal-oriented framework, symptoms or issues are not the primary focus; instead, we collaboratively construct and work toward achievable objectives.
