CA
Hi, my name is Sheila Wallace, and my preferred name is Layla. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California. I have been licensed for 5 years and have worked in mental health supporting individuals from all backgrounds for 15 years. I earned my Master’s in Counseling from the University of Phoenix. My approach I use a variety of therapeutic modalities, including CBT, DBT, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. My goal is to identify the approach that best fits each individual's needs. My focus I provide individual therapy to adults ages 18 and up. I have worked with all ages and backgrounds, supporting those struggling with depression, anxiety, panic disorders, life transitions, stressors, and mood and thought disorders such as bipolar disorder or schizophrenia. My communication style I aim to create a welcoming, warm environment where individuals feel comfortable being open and honest. I ensure each person feels heard through frequent check-ins to make sure our time meets your needs. I welcome feedback to tailor our sessions to you. My journey to mental healthcare As an undecided college major, I worked at a residential program for youth and with Easter Seals and Camp Ronald McDonald during summers. This work revealed my passion for supporting others. Since then, I have worked in various settings including residential youth programs, community-based mental health services providing therapy and behavioral support to adolescents, transitional-age youth, families, and inpatient psychiatric hospitals. This experience has allowed me to work with individuals of all ages, settings, and needs. I strongly believe in the power of compassionate, individualized care.
