“I wasn't sure what to expect. My only other experience with therapy was confrontational at best. As soon as I enter the lobby I was greeted immediately by the reception desk. They asked by name and asked me to have a seat. The people at the desk genuinely seem to be happy to be, which isn't usually the case and medical offices based on my experiences. I arrived early because I always do so. The only wait was due to me being early. My therapist greeted me and introduced herself and we went back to begin the session. This was my first session and I was uncomfortable because I usually don't talk about myself. I was made to feel welcome and was told that I was in a safe space and I believed it. I was still uncomfortable though just due to the nature of my issues. I feel like the session went really well and I'm pretty excited to see how this turns out. I'm hoping for a new normal. ”
