Getting to know Shelby Sawyer

Hi, I’m Shelby , a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over six years of experience supporting teens and adults through life’s most difficult moments. I specialize in working with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, life transitions, and identity exploration, with a special focus on, LGBTQ+ affirming care and support for first responders and military personnel . My approach to therapy is eclectic, person-centered, and proactive. I don’t just listen, I actively engage with you in the process by offering feedback, suggestions, and practical tools to support your growth outside of sessions. That often includes personalized homework or exercises to help you apply what we’re working on in real life. I draw from a wide range of evidence-based methods, including CBT, ACT, mindfulness, trauma-informed care and more, always tailored to your unique needs and goals. Right now I offer only Saturday appointments to make therapy more accessible, and all sessions are held virtually for your convenience and privacy. I became a therapist because I care deeply about being a supportive, steady presence for those who are struggling. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for a space to be heard and supported, I’m here to walk alongside you on your path to healing and growth.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
