Getting to know Sherrie (Rikki) Silver

Hi there, I'm Sherrie/Rikki! Hello! I am an LMFT with 20 years of experience and a passion for helping people. I approach therapy as your helper and guide, knowing you have the capacity to make positive changes even when it feels like you don't. I actively participate in your journey to a healthier, happier life. I believe that while hearing you is important, therapy doesn’t end there. I offer tools, understanding, and direction to help you reach your goals. Having experienced Depression, Anxiety, and Trauma myself, I understand and can relate to these challenges. I know healing and a more peaceful life are achievable. But my story is not your story, and we will address the uniqueness of your needs. I earned my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from National University in San Diego, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to support my clients effectively. My approach Part of your experience as my client involves me listening to your concerns, but it doesn’t end there. I teach helpful tools and offer insights into the root of your struggles. I use a variety of approaches tailored to your needs and understand the difficulties you face with compassion. My primary modalities include EMDR, Person-Centered, Mindfulness, Psychodynamic, CBT, Christian-Based interventions when appropriate, and Internal Family Systems techniques. My focus I enjoy working with clients who want to make positive changes in their lives and take action to achieve lasting growth. Clients seeking someone simply to talk to about daily or weekly struggles without aiming for change are challenging for me to work with. While current struggles are important and deserve to be told, the goal of finding answers is key to leaving those struggles behind. My communication style My communication style is expressed with compassion and openness. I am direct, offer insights, and ask probing questions that help you come to your own conclusions rather than mine.

Sherrie was one of the best therapists I've ever had. Her expertise and methodologies helped heal years of inner child pain. No matter where she goes, I know she will give grace many lives with tender compassion and healing.
I don't know how I got so lucky with Rikki. She is kind, wise, extremely supportive, not judgmental, and incredibly insightful. I've made more progress with her in the last few months than I have with any other therapists combined. On top of effectively working through trauma with EMDR--a first for me--she helped me through a big personal loss. Each session flows organically, and she is here for you, guiding you through your own thoughts. My interpersonal relationships are better (hooray for boundaries) and my relationship with myself has improved tenfold. Rikki, you are wonderful, thank you so much for everything you do to help me be a more functional human and a better version of myself.
Sherri (Rikki) Silver is a well-rounded professional in the field of trauma recovery. Not only does she bring her years of experience to the forefront of her practice but her approach is also wealthy of precise resources, diverse and multi-faceted approaches as well as her attention on the significance of self-care and inserting boundaries, all of which is useful to the healing process. I would recommend working with Rikki. Just her calming presence alone is worth the price of admission.
