She is an enrolled member of the Shinnecock Nation and a descendant of the Lenape/Delaware/Nanticoke People. Her given traditional name roughly translates to ?I gather strength from within.? Ms. Hunter-Cuyjet received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Smith College in Cultural Anthropology and Studio Art; her Master of Social Work degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook; and a Post-Master's certification in Military and Veteran Behavioral Health from Widener University. She is licensed to practice in New York, New Jersey, and Massachusetts. Ms. Hunter-Cuyjet is trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, and Structural Family Therapy. She is a Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) facilitator and trainer, having spent a decade working on building community relations between law enforcement, behavioral health providers, and key community stakeholders. Most recently, she completed her training and certification as a Certified Trauma and Resilience Practitioner-Clinical. Ms. Hunter-Cuyjet enjoys working with youth, adults, couples, families, and communities. In her spare time, Ms. Hunter-Cuyjet enjoys spending time with her partner, family, and friends; engaging in cultural practices in her Indigenous community; going to the beach for clamming and swimming; photography; baking, especially her famous cheesecakes; running; and traveling the U.S. and international countries.
