I believe that every person has a unique story, and that meaningful therapy begins with understanding your experiences from your perspective. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and creating a safe, confidential environment where you can feel heard without judgment. I have a primary interest in working with adults age 18 and older experiencing anxiety, depression, grief and loss, trauma, relationship and family concerns, life transitions, substance use, and addiction. I also have experience working with individuals who may feel isolated, overwhelmed, or uncertain about their next steps, including those participating in mandated treatment. My primary framework is existential therapy, which focuses on meaning, purpose, personal responsibility, and the choices we make throughout life. I also integrate evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), EMDR, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based approaches, Family Systems, Person-Centered therapy, and Multicultural therapy when clinically appropriate. In addition to individual therapy, I provide substance use and addiction treatment, including group therapy and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) services at Healthy Avenues Medical Group. My goal is to help you develop greater insight, build practical coping skills, and create meaningful and sustainable changes as you continue forward.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Starting therapy can feel difficult, especially when you are navigating a crisis, major life transition, or simply unsure of where to begin. My approach is to meet you where you are, without judgment, while helping you identify practical steps toward greater stability, insight, and well-being. I have extensive experience in crisis intervention, safety planning, de-escalation, and supporting individuals through challenging or high-stress situations. Whether you are working through emotional difficulties, relationship concerns, trauma, or substance use and recovery, I strive to create a supportive environment where you can feel heard, understood, and empowered to move forward. Therapy is a collaborative process, and my goal is to help you develop the insight, coping skills, confidence, and strategies needed to transition toward a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle, one step at a time.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first sessions are focused on getting to know you, understanding what brought you to therapy, and identifying the concerns and goals you would like to address. We will discuss relevant aspects of your history, current circumstances, strengths, challenges, and support system so that I can develop a better understanding of your needs. From there, we will work together to establish treatment goals and determine the therapeutic approach that best fits your situation, depending on your needs. For clients receiving substance use or addiction treatment, the process may include an assessment of substance use patterns, recovery goals, current supports, and any factors that may affect treatment. I may also recommend we add group therapy to work more on relapse-prevention skills, and motivational strategies or even substance abuse intensive outpatient (SUD IOP). Clients participating in IOP will also have opportunities to engage with a psychiatrist on my team at least once a month, and in structured substance use and addiction-focused group therapy. Adult groups offered Wednesday & Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Throughout treatment, we will regularly evaluate your progress and adjust goals and interventions as needed. My goal is for therapy to be a collaborative process that provides both insight and practical tools you can use beyond the therapy setting.
