Getting to know Sofia Vaksman

I am a bilingual (English and Russian) psychotherapist working with adults and couples, providing both short-term and long-term psychotherapy. I have over 15 years of experience in a variety of settings and with diverse clients. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from Yeshiva University. Currently, I provide virtual/video counseling to my clients using a HIPAA-compliant platform. Using interventions for individuals and couples such as CBT, Client-Centered approach, solution-focused therapy, the Gottman method, and others, I empower my clients to develop coping, communication, emotional awareness, mindfulness, and stress reduction skills that they can start using right away. I found my session with Sofia to be extremely helpful. She really knows how to listen and had a lot of empathy for what I’m going through. She made me feel comfortable to open up and feel accountable to do the hard work. Sofia is excellent.
Given my long history of trying to find a psychotherapist, who actually takes an interest in helping their patients, I have finally found someone. After my first session with Ms. Vaksman, I understood that it doesn't just a college degree, but an actual capacity to understand someone's emotional pain and posses the ability to help them.
