Sophia Franklin, LCSW

Psychotherapist
GA
Hello! I am a licensed clinical social worker in Georgia with over 12 years of experience as a counselor and life coach. I earned my Master’s in Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi. I have helped many people who have experienced physical trauma or emotional abuse. Originally from Mississippi, my counseling approach focuses on building strong rapport so trust is established before goals are discussed. Growing up in the South, treating someone with respect is essential. My years working with individuals experiencing homelessness and those uninsured enhanced my awareness of seeing each person for who they are versus what they are experiencing. My approach combines cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and solution-focused counseling, tailored to meet your unique needs. As a clinical social worker, I have worked with clients facing depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, relationship issues, career challenges, and anger management. I believe the first step in any healthy relationship is trust. It’s my responsibility to create a relaxing, light, but informative environment to build that trust. I have been called "The Cool Therapist" for using humor and experience to help you see things differently while empowering you to make necessary changes toward your goals. Before social work, I wanted to help those in need. Initially, I majored in Physical Therapy after witnessing the progress of a client in a car wreck. However, an Introduction to Psychology class changed my path, and I switched to social work. For 20 years, this career has been my passion.
