Sophie is a skilled Social Worker trained in individual counseling and group facilitation. She is trained in CBT, DBT, and strength-based models. Experienced in crisis intervention, Sophie provides support for mental health and substance use. Excellent verbal and written communicator with a strong background cultivating positive relationships and exceeding goals. Sophie earned her Masters in Social Work from The University of Chicago. Sophie brings a multicultural lens to her practice, as she grew up up in France and was able to travel the world at a young age. Social work offers many avenues, but her primary focus is in micro-work with families dealing with the intellectual, emotional and physical abuses of loved ones living with co-occurring disorders. Sophie is a firm believer that promoting strong relationships with clients and their communities allows her to improve their capacity in addressing their own needs.
What should a new client know about working with you?
For some people, the initial therapy session might be nerve-wracking. It's normal to feel anxious before your first therapy session. Keep in mind that the initial session is intended to allow me to get to know you. This will be accomplished by questions about your life, your upbringing, and the circumstances that led you to seek additional support. In sessions, you can expect to feel respected and feel validated, while actively listening. As the sessions go on, my hopes are that you start to feel some form of improvement, relief or change.

More information on payments and coverage
Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
