Stacey Mackaman, LMFT

Psychotherapist
116 S Catalina Ave., Ste 112, Redondo Beach, CA
I bring a direct, warm, collaborative style. I'll engage actively, ask questions, and offer honest reflections, not just nod along. My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based, tailored to your needs, whether you're processing loss, managing ADHD, or working through difficult experiences. Expect real conversation over clinical checklists. I value depth over small talk, so we'll get to what matters quickly, and I'll stay clear about what's working and what needs adjusting along the way.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I bring a direct, warm, collaborative style. I'll engage actively, ask questions, and offer honest reflections, not just nod along. My approach is trauma-informed and evidence-based, tailored to your needs, whether you're processing loss, managing ADHD, or working through difficult experiences. Expect real conversation over clinical checklists. I value depth over small talk, so we'll get to what matters quickly, and I'll stay clear about what's working and what needs adjusting along the way.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We start with an initial session focused on understanding what brought you in, your history, and what you're hoping to get out of therapy. I also include assessments for depression and anxiety, plus any others that seem relevant, at the start and periodically throughout our work together. I use the results as a roadmap to guide your treatment plan and track progress over time. From there, sessions are collaborative: I check in on what's come up since we last talked, but I also bring structure and direction rather than leaving things open-ended. Depending on what you're working through, this might mean processing a specific loss, building practical strategies for managing ADHD symptoms, or working through the lingering effects of past experiences. I integrate talk therapy with trauma-informed techniques, adjusting the pace and approach based on what you need.
