Stephanie Cree, LMFT

Psychotherapist
CA
Hi. I am Stephanie Cree, a licensed Marriage, Family, and Child Therapist. I hold a Master of Science in Counseling Education and a Master of Arts in Psychology from Meridian University. My approach to therapy is that you are a whole person, so I address your body, mind, and spirit in sessions. I began with Humanistic psychology and have studied Imaginal Psychology along with several other theories. I use what I know for what you need. My approach I often use Cognitive therapy as a foundational theory and incorporate some Jungian practices. I also use tools I’ve learned along the way. I am a certified hypnotist and recently learned EMDR, which many find helpful for trauma. Sandplay/sandtray and Art therapy are wonderful and fun tools. My focus I began working with people with Schizophrenia and Major Depression, then with less severe issues. At CALM, I was on the Domestic Violence Team working with mothers and children who left violence at home. I currently work with general issues many people face. My communication style I set a respectful atmosphere, valuing each person for who they are, with the expectation that each person will do the work toward resolution. My journey to mental healthcare As a young woman, I worked with emotionally disturbed teens and read *I Never Promised You a Rose Garden*. The human brain fascinates me—how thoughts and feelings work within the brain and body. I find it challenging to find the right direction for each client. My goals for you I ask about your goals and may suggest options for you to consider. My first session with you You can expect to talk about why you want therapy. It’s a chance for me to understand what’s going on.
