“She was a very good listener. Took her time and didn’t rush her responses. 30 mins went by really easily due to the flow of the conversation. I felt like she took the time to get to know me and help me with things I struggled with week to week.”

Getting to know Stephanie Dixon

Hi there, I'm Stephanie! My name is Stephanie Dixon, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) based in Savannah, GA, working with clients statewide via telehealth. I hold a Master of Education in Community Counseling from the University of Georgia and a Bachelor's from Georgia State University. I work with adolescents and adults, specializing in anxiety, mood disorders, life transitions, and stress management. My approach I use a person-centered and supportive approach, frequently employing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, and Art Therapy. These modalities help build rapport, gain understanding, and teach coping skills. My focus I typically work with teens and adults and am passionate about supporting BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and other marginalized communities. Anxiety, adjustment disorders, life transitions, mood disorders, and stress management are conditions I am comfortable treating. My communication style My style is calm, welcoming, and pleasant. I aim to create a safe space where clients feel comfortable discussing anything. I pride myself on being nonjudgmental and listening with empathy and compassion. My journey to mental healthcare I became a therapist because I have always had a passion for helping people. From a young age, I was taught to make my corner of the world brighter, and one of the easiest ways is by listening and being present. I believe it’s okay to not be okay, but it’s not okay to stay that way. My goals for you I see goal setting as collaborative. I work with clients to determine their therapy goals and how we can achieve them together. The client is always in the driver’s seat; I’m the GPS suggesting paths to reach our destination.
