“I had intended to try therapy out for a short time but my treatment with her has been so helpful and effective that I have stuck with it long term. She truly cares about her clients, always makes herself available, and will work with your schedule. It is very easy to open up to her, she works at your pace with what you want to explore, respects boundaries for when you are ready, and is non-judgemental. She offers valuable feedback on how to navigate issues. My experience with her has benefited me so much. She's is truly an amazing provider. ”

Getting to know Stephanie Durso

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University, specializing in addiction for the past 10+ years. Throughout my years of practice, I have worked with clients dealing with various challenges such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family and job concerns, and more. I also hold a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional Certification. Dealing with traumatic events is one of the bravest things you could do, but it is also very difficult. I would be thrilled to help you process and recover from your wounds both old and new.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I have been told many times that I bring a calming presence into my sessions. This has allowed my clients a level of comfortability to share openly and honestly. I offer flexible scheduling as well to assist clients with hectic schedules. My approach to therapy is to meet each person where they are at in life. Therapy is not a one size fits all profession. Each person has different goals and strengths. My goal is to assist each client in finding their strengths and then build upon them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

An initial session is often reviewing basic information and getting to know one another. Clients will be asked about why they are currently seeking therapy and what they hope to get out of our session. Each session helps to build a bond and work through any challenges. Sessions are typically weekly and may move to bi-weekly as goals are accomplished. Again, therapy is not one size fits all and each client relationship is tailored to each clients needs.
