Getting to know Stephanie Edwards

Hello! My name is Stephanie Edwards. I’m a licensed professional clinical counselor with a supervision designation. I have more than 10 years of experience in the mental health field. I earned my master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Akron. I specialize in complex trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), diversity issues, depression, anxiety, and issues stemming from the abuse. I’m trained in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR) and am a Level 1 Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP). During my career as a mental health professional, I’ve gained experience in a variety of settings. These include intensive home-based treatment, residential facilities, schools, outpatient offices, a hospital emergency department, and my local crisis/suicide hotline. I was previously a supervisor for a chemical dependency program in which I supervised interns, counselors, and case managers.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Our initial session will be a welcome session. In this session I will guide you through a diagnostic assessment. We will review the circumstances that brought you into counseling and explore your needs and desired outcomes. I will review information pertaining to the therapeutic process and you will be able to ask any clarifying questions. This is a session where we can also assess our fit for each other. In future sessions, we will continue to review and define your goals to help you be the best version of you.

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
